Dancing fan for fun
Folding Fan is said to bring good luck, as the shape of an open fan is “Suehirogari”. “Suehirogari” means gradually widening toward the end. It signifies increasing success.
Also fan(Aogu) means “look up to” in Japanese.
Thus fan has been considered as a tool to wake up spirits by fanning with respect.
The dancing fan I boughton the other day is not for Japanese dancing but for fun.
I am not going to dance with this fan.
I just wanted to check how to open the dancing fan in Japanese dancing.
Now I trully realize that it is very hard to dance with a folding fan. Gosh!
